    • Painter's Tape
    • Medium Plastic Christmas Ornaments
    • Hot Glue Gun
    • Floor/Surface protection
    • Bowl of Ice Water

  1. After finding a lamp with a simple rod structure and platform base, tape-off the light socket and cord for protection.
  2. Spray-paint the lamp and let dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Glue three ornaments (one at a time) to the base of the lamp so they completely wrap around the rod.
  4. Add the next layer, gluing one ball on top of the one below so they stack vertically.  note: Have a bowl of ice water ready in case you get glue on your hands to minimize the risk of burning.
  5. After all the ornaments are glued in place, spray-paint and let them dry as above.
  6. Remove the painter's tape and put the lampshade on your fun new lamp base. I've seen lamps just like this selling for $200! This budget-friendly version only looks expensive.
