PROJECT STEPS
- Find a well-ventilated spot to work in and cover nearby items with drop cloths to protect them from paint splatters.
- Sand each of the letters lightly using sandpaper. Always sand in the direction of the grain.
- Remove sanding dust by lightly dragging the cloth across the surface.
- Apply Rust-Oleum 2X White Primer to the surface. Hold the paint can 25-40 cm from the surface. Press the spray button and begin covering the surface in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke.
- Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. For best results, apply multiple light coats versus one heavy coat.
- Apply topcoat after one hour or within 24 hours.
- Once dry, repeat steps and apply Rust-Oleum 2X Apple Red, to the surface. Allow to dry for 2 hours.
- Using super glue, glue the letters together side by side.
- Allow the glue to dry for 1-2 hours.
- Once dry, glue a pretty ribbon of your choice to the back and hang your project in a special place.
